Born and raised in London, Melinda Camber Porter lived in Paris in the 1970s as the Cultural Correspondent for The Times and for over 25 years at the Hotel Des Artistes in New York. After a prolonged battle with ovarian cancer, Melinda died aged 55 at her family home in Sag Harbor, New York.
